I began training with Andy almost 2 years ago in October 2017. I was trying to get in shape and had already got myself from 15st to 13st (I’m 5ft 8”)I. My goal was to lose another stone. My expectation was to lose the weight, with Andy’s help, and that would be that.

To say the training has exceeded my expectations would be an almighty understatement.

It quickly became apparent that my decision to begin training with Andy was one of the best I’ve ever made.

It turned out to be a landmark, life-changing event and Andy’s commitment to helping me become the best version of myself is unwavering.

Andy has helped and encouraged me to achieve things I didn’t realise were possible. I now weigh 11st 7llbs, have completely changed my appearance, reduced my body fat percentage from 30% to below 15%, dramatically increased my energy levels and developed an incredible ‘can do’ mindset.  I applied this mindset to successfully pass my Chartered Financial Planner exams in just 3 months (I had been told by others who had completed the exams it would take at least 18 months).

One of my fondest training memories was when the “beast from the east’ snowstorm hit the UK in March 2018. I was still getting to know Andy at that point and looking out at the thick snow the morning of our training I checked my phone expecting to see a text cancelling the session. Of course, the text never came. Andy believes that the greater the challenge, the more we stand to benefit by overcoming it and so we trained in the snow. The park was virtually silent with just the two of us working out. I shall never forget the feeling when we left the park that day.  It was a mixture of euphoria, elation and pure joy at having triumphed over the elements and this has become a wonderful metaphor for my life in general.

Andy has a wonderful question he regularly asks me… ‘is that your best?’  I now ask the same question whenever I feel myself engaging in negative self-talk or placing imaginary limitations on my potential.

In February of this year I underwent unexpected and major surgery for a life-threatening illness. I have since returned to full health and am back training with Andy as committed as ever. My surgeon attributed a large part of my successful recovery to my high levels of fitness and mental toughness which undoubtably were enhanced through my training.

I am more than delighted with the decision I took to start training with Andy, and he has become so much more than my trainer. I’m very proud to call him a great friend.
