UK RETREAT
FFLS Snowden retreat is here... Finally after 3 years of planning!
Snowdonia is a region in northwest Wales concentrated around the mountains and glacial landforms of Snowdonia National Park. Mount Snowdon, offers views across the sea to Ireland. The park is also home to an extensive network of trails, over 100 lakes and craggy peaks. There is no better place for an action packed fitness retreat. FFLS has a great itinerary for you, you will push your limits, break boundaries and will leave feeling exhilarated...... AND WANTING MORE!
Overview Day 1

Late afternoon there will be a Bootcamp or a hike to Aber Falls which is approx 10k walk with a view beyond words! Exhaustion levels and weather will dictate however we will always endeavour to get Aber Falls into the itinerary if we can! Either way we can fire up the muscles in preparation for the next morning when you will be climbing Snowdon! Don't worry all exercises will be scaled to your abilities!

You can expect kettlebells, tyre's, battle ropes and body weight exercises, followed by a nice cool down with stretching!

After your bootcamp / hike you will have time to freshen up before gathering around a warm fire sharing in outdoor cooking. This also gives time to discuss overall fitness and future goals as well as tapping into great nutritional advice. Do not worry this evening is informal with plenty of laughs and maybe a game or two before bed. You may be disturbed by the occasional Moo!

We will head to the base of the mountain by approx 9am after a nutritious breakfast. Of course you will need energy on the way as well as additional clothing, this will all be explained in the initial guidance upon booking but also in the briefing upon arrival. You need to allow 6-7 hours for ascent and decent, as you may already know Snowdon has had its fair share of fatalities although this is rare do not under-estimate the terrain or how rapidly clear skies and sunshine can turn to snow and wind. We will of course be there to help you the whole way and we do break things down with stops etc so there is plenty of time to assess the weather and how you feel, the only way is down so while we encourage you to reach the top and push through if we feel your health safety or general well being is being compromised you will be able to descend with an experienced volunteer. Once at the top you will have photo opportunities and a short break and then its time for the long walk home! Although you are on a health retreat there is a welcoming pub is at the bottom where you can get a warm drink or something extra to warm your cockles! Additionally there are shops where you can buy yourself something to commemorate your experience!

Snowdon Day! ..... (this is for first time retreaters on V 1.0)
There are numerous ways to ascend Snowdon as you may already know, however the safest route is the Llanberis path! It is one of the longest path's however it is also one of the safest and easiest although do not be deceived even though I have climbed Snowdon many times and I am physically able to rise to the challenge I have to sometimes stop and take a few moments, it will feel like a hell of a challenge but we will all be in it together, the only option to opt out is at the half way house, if at this point you have to stop, you will still have to walk down with a colleague. From the half way house to the summit is truly where the challenge begins, I will of course help you and break down each section at a time! Once you reach the summit, you will have amazing photo opportunities and will be able to bask in the glory of conquering the mountain. I am very respectful of the local experts advice, and if they advise there is a risk to your safety or your life we will be taking on other challenges instead but only as a last resort!

Go below day! ........... (this is for returners on V 2.0)
So for returning guests and there are many! Often they are ready for some new challenges, we offer "Go Below" one of our amazing partners who test your nerve by journeying through a mountain via a series of exciting adventurous challenges on one of their three epic underground adventures. Some of the possibilities are...... Try your hand at zip-lining through caverns, or climbing up a vertical shaft, boating across a lake, traverse over an abyss, scale a waterfall or abseil your way down to the deepest point in the UK! It’s Adrenaline pumping, heart thumping, pulse jumping fun, guided by the most fun, experienced and qualified instructors in the country!
"Go below" frequently assist television and film production crews who wish to use the mine as a versatile and practical shooting location which has featured in a number of ITV productions as well as a few well know movies. Now you can put your name to it!

Upon arrival, you will be left to unload your luggage into your huge luxury bell tent! You will then be shown the high standard shower blocks and I MEAN "high standard" and the outdoor kitchen's before you are given time to relax with a hot drink and enjoy some down time after your journey.

Once refreshed you will be briefed about the itinerary and options, which can be interchangeable due to the unpredictable Welsh weather! Do not worry we will prepare you with what you need for every eventuality!
